Sick Visits
We try our best to see sick children on the same-day with appointments. We see patients by appointments only. We do not take walk in visits. Please call after 8:00 AM on week days to schedule a same day visit.
Well Child Visits
Having regular well-child visits with your child's doctor and raising the concerns that matter most to you are key ingredients in helping the doctor know you and your child and forming trustworthy relationship. Make the most of these visits by writing down important questions and concerns to bring with you.
Don't Schedule Well Child Appointments Too Early! If your child is due for a well-child visit, immunization, or test at a certain age, make the appointment for a date after your child reaches that age.
Calls during Office Hours
Parents are encouraged to call during normal office hours with routine questions. The office staff is trained to answer most non-clinical questions. For medical questions the staff will take the message to the nurse and/or the doctor. Your call may not be returned until after the physician finish seeing our patients in the office. Please be sure to let the staff know if your situation is an emergency and requires an immediate call back.
After Hour Phone Calls
If your child becomes sick after office hours and you cannot wait until the next morning, you can reach Dr. Kumar at 909-590-7356. You will be asked to leave a message and Dr. Kumar or a doctor on call will try to return your call usually within half hour. Be sure to give your child’s full name, age and your main concern and a phone number to call you back. Please turn off your call blocking from anonymous numbers while you are waiting for a return phone call from the doctor. Our providers have this feature on their phones for privacy reasons.
Please save routine calls (Prescription refills, appointments, etc. for next business day).
Prescriptions
Here at Dr. Kumar for Kids, we only prescribe medication after examining your child in an office visit. We do not phone in antibiotic prescriptions. For chronic conditions, we will be more than happy to fulfill a prescription refill. Please contact your pharmacy and ask them to fax us a refill request at Fax: 909-627-8999 or you may leave a prescription refill request with any of our staff members.
